Integrative Therapy Association (ITA)

Last Updated: November 1, 2025

1. Introduction

The Integrative Therapy Association (ITA) is a professional governing and credentialing body that establishes standards for education, ethics, and practice in the field of Integrative Therapy. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ITA’s website, certification services, membership programs, and any related materials or communications (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the ITA’s Services, you agree to comply with these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Services.

2. Purpose of the ITA

The ITA exists to promote ethical, evidence-informed, and integrative approaches to mental and physical health care. ITA provides certification and credentialing for practitioners and approves educational institutions that meet its training standards. ITA does not provide clinical supervision, therapy, or medical services.

3. Eligibility

To apply for certification, membership, or program approval, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.

  • Provide accurate and truthful information on all application forms.

  • Agree to comply with ITA’s Code of Ethics, Scope of Practice, and Continuing Education Requirements.

ITA reserves the right to deny or revoke certification or membership at its discretion if eligibility or ethical standards are not met.

4. Certification and Credentialing

Certification through the ITA signifies that an individual or institution meets established professional standards but does not constitute a license to practice psychotherapy, counseling, or medicine.

Practitioners are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable state, federal, or national laws governing their professional activities. ITA credentials are designed to complement, not replace, state or national licensure.

5. Educational Provider Approval

Educational providers may apply for ITA accreditation or program approval. Approval signifies that a curriculum aligns with ITA’s competency framework but does not imply state or federal accreditation. ITA reserves the right to revoke approval if standards are not maintained.

6. Fees and Payments

All fees for membership, certification, renewal, or educational review are due at the time of submission unless otherwise stated. All payments are non-refundable unless explicitly stated in writing by ITA.

7. Code of Conduct

All certified practitioners and members agree to:

  • Maintain integrity, professionalism, and client confidentiality.

  • Accurately represent their credentials and scope of practice.

  • Refrain from making false or misleading claims about treatment outcomes or services.

  • Operate within the ethical and educational standards set by ITA.

Violations may result in suspension or permanent revocation of credentials.

8. Use of Content and Materials

All content published by the ITA—including text, graphics, logos, videos, and educational materials—is the property of the Integrative Therapy Association and protected by copyright and trademark law.
You may not reproduce, distribute, or use ITA materials for commercial purposes without written permission.

9. Disclaimer

The ITA and its representatives do not provide legal, medical, or therapeutic advice. All content is for educational and credentialing purposes only. The ITA is not responsible for the actions, omissions, or outcomes of any practitioner or institution it certifies.

10. Limitation of Liability

Under no circumstances shall the ITA, its officers, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of its Services or reliance on its credentials.

11. Termination and Revocation

ITA may terminate access to its Services or revoke certification at any time, with or without notice, for breach of these Terms or ethical violations. Revocation decisions are made at ITA’s discretion and may be appealed under the ITA Appeals Policy (if applicable).

12. Privacy

Personal data submitted to ITA is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as outlined there.

13. Changes to Terms

ITA may modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised “Effective Date.” Continued use of ITA Services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted under the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
